Is that Eyeliner?

I guess I'm not the first person to notice that JD Vance seems to be wearing eyeliner.

https://www.dailydot.com/debug/jd-vance-eyeliner-speculation-tiktok/

I guess it is more common in Indian culture and his wife is Indian.

He needs to remember that everyday you have to decide to be a good terminator or a bad terminator. Be the good terminator JD. Choose good.

Trump's Plan to Fix Elections

Donald Trump promises his supporters rigged elections after four years in office:

“Christians, get out and vote! Just this time – you won’t have to do it any more,”

“You know what? It’ll be fixed! It’ll be fine. You won’t have to vote any more, my beautiful Christians,”

“I love you. Get out – you gotta get out and vote. In four years, you don’t have to vote again. We’ll have it fixed so good, you’re not gonna have to vote.”

There is more to this than I originally thought. There is a secret Christian organization called Ziklag which is attempting to influence elections by challenging voter rolls in key counties. It turns out, a little money goes a long way in challenging voter rolls especially if you focus on key swing counties.

Inside Ziklag, the Secret Organization of Wealthy Christians Trying to Sway the Election and Change the Country

Who's behind it?

"The billionaire Uihlein family, who made a fortune in office supplies, the Greens, who run Hobby Lobby, and the Wallers, who own the Jockey apparel corporation. Recipients of Ziklag’s largesse include Alliance Defending Freedom, which is the Christian legal group that led the overturning of Roe v. Wade, plus the national pro-Trump group Turning Point USA and a constellation of right-of-center advocacy groups."

Bullies

When our leaders act like bullies, it sends a message to our kids that it's OK to be bullies.

Corporate Oligarchy

Any capitalist society will eventually become a corporate oligarchy, because it is in a corporation's best interest to control the government, and a relatively small investment in an election can result in an enormous roi for the corporations. Corporations do not have empathy so they don't care what happens to the planet or society. The fact that a small percentage of humans get extremely wealthy is merely a side effect.

Can't Pass a Bill? Amend the Constitution!

The Wisconsin state legislature can't overcome the governor's veto so they have figured out a workaround for passing partisan laws. Make it part of the state constitution. It turns out if you both houses of the state legislature pass an amendment over two consecutive sessions, they can put it out as a referendum. If the referendum passes the new law becomes part of the state constitution. The trick is to put it up for referendum during an election with a low turnout, especially one where their side is more likely to vote.

A Key Difference Between Republicans and Democrats

Robert Reich made an interesting observation about a key difference between Democrats and Republicans. When Trump says something crazy or does something illegal Republicans and right-wing media like Fox News jump to his defense supporting him and surrounding him with a wall of spin. When Biden, or any other Democrat for that matter, says or does something off, other Democrats and the media tear them down rather than defend them. Is this a problem with the Democrats? No, this is a problem with the Republicans. In a democracy, political parties should be cleaning their own house so to speak.

How Will American Democracy End?

How will American democracy end? American capitalism is based on a system where corporations are given authority over people. A small group of people benefit greatly from this system and become millionaires and billionaires. They can invest a small fraction of their money to elect candidates who benefit corporations and the wealthy by giving them huge tax breaks. The ROI is huge. The problem is corporations are designed not to have empathy. They are legally mandated to only care about one thing; profit. In spite of this they are now considered legal persons.

“Legal scholars and others, such as Joel Bakan, have observed that a business corporation created as a ‘legal person’ has a psychopathic personality because it is required to elevate its own interests above those of others even when this inflicts major risks and grave harms on the public or on other third-parties. Such critics note that the legal mandate of the corporation to focus exclusively on corporate profits and self-interest often victimizes employees, customers, the public at large, and/or the natural resources.” Wkipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corporation

One of the major problems the United States will face in the coming decades will be the deficit. The only realistic way to eliminate the deficit is to raise taxes. Republicans refuse to do this repeating the lie of Laffer economics. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laffer_curve It runs out the Laffer curve only kicks in around 70% tax rate. Once the lending rating drops the debt will spiral out of control which will probably lead to hyperinflation and a downward spiral of more and more extreme leaders. And that’s it.
